2024 The Year of The Dragon

We are in the Dragon Year! Saturday, February 10, the Lunar New Year (also known as the Chinese New Year) begins, and according to astrology, the year of the dragon will bring about many beneficial developments.

The dragon has been a powerful sign in the Chinese zodiac for a long time, bestowing prosperity on everyone born under its sign. According to urban legend, everyone will be showered with good fortune in 2024, the year of the dragon. Before the dragon will distribute his riches and wisdom, though, he has one condition: people must first be sympathetic and nice to one another. (Whether you believe in horoscopes or not, it’s very sound advice.)

Dragon (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024): It’s the dragons’ year and many believe being born in a year of the dragon is the best possible outcome for a person. Fame and fortune are coming the way of dragons in 2024, especially when surrounded by the lucky colours of silver and gold. While dragons may experience a few roadblocks on the way to their desires, overall this is a good year for marriages, babies and new businesses.

As for me, I am an Earth Dragon that seems to be less noisy than other Dragons. We like a lot of different things and are always aware of what’s going on around us. We can easily get people on board with their new ideas because we are such great leaders.

When it comes to money, we are brilliant and can get a lot of money. We’re great at organising things, but they can sometimes be a bit picky. We’ll always have a lot of friends. There is always a lot of confidence in the Dragon. We are proud and active. Our minds are very sharp, and we are always ready to seize an opportunity. We are strong-willed and determined to do well in everything we do, which comes easily to us. We try to keep up the high standards we set for ourselves all the time because we are a bit of a perfectionist.

What does this Year mean to me?

I am the unquenchable Fire,
The center of all energy,
The stout heroic heart.
I am truth and light,
I hold power and glory in my sway.
My presence
Disperses dark clouds
To tame the Fates.

I am the DRAGON.

Looking at my Office Space

Spiritual experts say that people want things to be simpler and clearer, and that more people are realising how important it is to take care of themselves and grow as a person. This is certainly me. My space is important how I thrive. If you live in chaos, your life will be in chaos.

It is expected that more people will choose to downsize their homes and move into smaller homes and flats in places that suit their tastes and offer a more comfortable, simpler way of life but this could be because of the cost of living is not cheap. But as time goes on, more people will realise how valuable it is to give bigger homes to younger generations. It is how important it is to know your own needs and the needs of your home and make plans to meet them now and in the future.

Approach to Life

Through my research, I have found that the Dragon female is, to be honest, a very straightforward person and I can relate. She likes clothes that are useful and practical the most. Not a lot of extras like frills, weak laces, buttons, and bows. Just the bare necessities. She will choose clothes that are easy to put on and take off and let her move around a lot. She hates being limited and restricted.

The Dragon girl almost never dresses too fancy. The bright idea she has in her head will shine through, without any extras. Every Dragon has a very high sense of self-worth, and the Dragon girl will be no different. She only wants your respect, and she’ll do anything to get it.

You can’t force the lady Dragon to do anything because she is fully free. You might as well give up; she will have the last word.

This truly sums up my approach to life. My clothes do not define who I am and I’m certainly not a big clothing spender. The bare necessities are sometimes the best feeling in the world as they make life simpler.

Wellness + Health

To feel calm, safe, grounded, and fed, you need to have a healthy Earth element. This is my approach to daily wellness.

Cooking – I prefer cooking to baking! In Chinese medicine, cooking helps strengthen your stomach fire, Even just standing in front of your cooker or hob to make a meal is good for your digestive system.

Journalling – Putting your thoughts on paper helps you arrange them and calms you down. I have learnt this through a great book called The Artists Way.

Writing in a book first thing in the morning will help you get into a routine for the day. When you write later in the day, you’ll be more focused on the events and information you’ve gathered during the day rather than what’s really going on inside you.

Money – Keeping track of how you spend your money, which is also energy, is one of the best and easiest ways to figure out how you handle your energy.

You can see how you’re spending your energy by looking at how you spend your money. How about a no-spend month besides the basics and important payments?

Being at peace with yourself makes it easier to be clear about your wants and, by extension, your limits. Having healthy limits and a better relationship with yourself will help you have healthier relationships with other people.

Take time to survey your internal environment

  • Identify areas where yin/yang could be balanced better

  • Identify areas which you would like to focus on

  • Start introducing some simple pieces according to your focus (e.g Mirrors)

  • Once comfortable – introduce more complex pieces (e.g Dragons)
