Glamorous has debuted on Netflix. The Damon Wayans Jr.’s new series follows a gender-nonconforming gay teen as he explores his sexuality, his identity, and the world around him. The one and only Samantha Jones from Sex and The City who plays an esteemed beauty mogul — and one of Marco’s biggest idols — Madolyn Addison (played by legendary actor Kim Cattrall, she/her) while working his day job behind the makeup counter. Looking to shake up her prestigious business, Madolyn hires Marco and gives him a seat at the table. This new job is his first chance to figure out what he wants out of life, who he actually is and what it really means for him to be queer.

So what has this got to do with Find Me Lettering?

Well… drum roll, please…

We had the opportunity to custom letter a note for Episode 10 when Marco receives it from Waverly. I won’t spoil it so go and watch it.

Jordon Nardino, who has worked on Star Trek: Discovery and Quantico, and Damon Wayans Jr. created the drama series. The 10-episode drama series is written and executive produced by Nardino, with additional executive production from Wayans Jr. and Kameron Tarlow of Two Shakes Entertainment.

A complete summary of the new show is as follows:

It’s a drama about a transgender high school grad named Marco Mejia (Benny) who gets an internship at a cosmetics company whose products he criticized on YouTube and ends up loving. Madolyn Addison, a former supermodel turned CEO, entrepreneur, and founder of Glamorous Cosmetics, created one of the most successful cosmetic enterprises in the world. But now, a change has occurred. The company’s performance is worse than declining; it’s plunging, as if sabotaged from within. Not willing to let that happen, Madolyn gives Marco a summer internship just after he graduates high school. She has a plan: she wants him to be her eyes and ears, to make friends, and to find out “what they’re hiding and what they’re stealing.” While she promises to share her wealth of knowledge with Marco in exchange for his service, she does so with a caveat: “This business isn’t all glitter and glamour and neither is life.”

Kim Cattrall plays cosmetics tycoon Madolyn Addison, who hires gender-nonconforming gay man Marco Mejia (Miss Benny) to help revive her Glamorous beauty brand. The show’s first episode aired today (June 22 2023), and Zane Phillips, Jade Payton, Michael Hsu Rosen, Ayesha Harris, and Graham Parkhurst will also be in it.
