Weddings are a celebration of love, a union of two souls, and a reflection of a couple’s unique journey together. For Sabrina and Ali, their wedding at the Omni King Edward Hotel in Toronto was nothing short of magical—a perfect blend of elegance, history, and personal touches that made their special day unforgettable.

As the guests arrived at the Omni King Edward, they were greeted by the hotel’s timeless beauty. The venue has long been known for hosting some of the city’s most exquisite events. With its grand ballrooms, ornate chandeliers, and classic architecture, the hotel provided a stunning backdrop for a celebration that would be remembered for years.

One of the most charming details of Sabrina and Ali’s wedding was the seating chart, a labour of love I had the honour of creating on mercury mirrors. Instead of opting for a traditional paper seating chart, the couple chose something unique—an antique mirror with a beautifully aged mercury mirror (mercury-glass mirrors have a slightly hazy or cloudy appearance), perfect for adding a touch of vintage elegance to their modern celebration.

The mirror, with its delicate stains, had a story of its own, much like the couple it was representing. Handwriting the names of 275 guests onto this vintage canvas was no small feat, I did bring in some extra hands to help me draw lines.

Measure twice, write once.

But it was a task filled with joy and purpose. Each name, carefully inscribed, became part of the mirror’s history, and it was as though the mirror itself was witnessing the union of two lives and the coming together of their loved ones.

The seating chart was more than just a functional piece; it symbolized the thought and care that went into every aspect of Sabrina and Ali’s wedding. Positioned at the entrance of the majestic Crystal Ballroom, it was the perfect introduction to the night’s festivities. Guests gathered around it during cocktail hour, admiring the artistry and the personalized touch that set the tone for the evening.

The Omni King Edward Hotel, with its grandeur and elegance, was the ideal setting for such a meaningful celebration. From the awe-inspiring Crystal Ballroom, where the couple danced their first dance under shimmering lights, to the more intimate spaces where they shared quiet moments with their closest family and friends, every corner of the hotel was filled with love, laughter, and joy.

The hotel’s expert planning team worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was perfect, from the stunning floral arrangements that filled the ballrooms with colour and fragrance to the world-class menu that delighted every palate. It was a day of perfection, where every element, big and small, came together to create a celebration that truly reflected Sabrina and Ali’s love story.

In the end, it’s the personal touches that make a wedding truly special. For Sabrina and Ali, the vintage mirror seating chart was one of those touches—an elegant piece that not only guided their guests but also told a story of love, history, and the beauty of coming together. As the night came to a close, the mirror stood as a silent witness to the memories created, ready to be cherished by the couple as a lasting memento of their unforgettable day at the Omni King Edward Hotel.
