I spent the week in the hallway, jumping in and out of virtual rooms, friending new movers and shakers who are all tackling the new Clubhouse app.
Welcome to your next social media addiction: Clubhouse — a unique live audio platform.
Clubhouse is an audio-based social media app. This type of social product is based on your voice that allows people everywhere to talk, tell stories, develop ideas, deepen conversations, and meet interesting new people around the world. Basically, you can jump in and out of different chats, on different subjects and topics, or you can simply listen or choose to throw in your thoughts and ideas.
The audio itself, however, doesn’t leave the app.
❌That’s the main rule: There’s no recording of conversations and they’re not saved. ❌
Think of Clubhouse like being at a networking event where you don’t know anyone, so you casually poke your head into conversations and chat with people around the room. I hoped into several rooms ranging from topics such as:
-
Manufacturing Your Own Brand
-
Imposter Syndrome during PMS
-
Monday Mindset, Mindfulness & Motivation
-
Financial Confidence
-
Let’s build a better future together
-
Marketing Monday
-
Women supporting Women to flourish
For those of you who are camera shy or hate the sound of your own voice — you can join any chat you want! It’s a bit like dropping into a live recording of a podcast, where you can actually raise your hand and ask a question and contribute to the conversation. Some conversations went on for hours (4 hours), participating in the conversation is key. Questions that are intriguing are answered by experienced speakers who are moderators too. Questions related to the struggles either in their business or in their personal life. People are showing up continuously. This is the part I truly enjoyed. What makes the app super intriguing is that there are diverse and well-spoken individuals who host rooms and participate in discussions. There are many well-connected people I have never heard of, leading rich conversations and dialogues.
Meet just some of my #sheheros Caloni Michelle, Brit Bronson, Dr. Caroline Iscovitz and Susan Dibble who was the former lawyer to Richard Branson .
But I won’t deny there are some #heheros too, Kunal Sood, Cory Muscara and Brandon Farbstein
Now, to be honest, I spent a LOT of time listening in and just like a podcast, you can listen while you’re multitasking, but there were conversations I just couldn’t resist to voice my opinion and share my story! While I have been very INTENTIONAL in the rooms I join because there are rooms with over 700 or 1000 people (especially the ones that say “how to be a millionaire or billionaire”. These rooms were just not for me as there were just too many people (especially more men), too many moderators and information that really wouldn’t contribute to my life right now!
There are 4 different virtual rooms
-
Social Room – moderators only
-
Open Clubhouse – free for all
-
Closed Rooms – Invite only
-
Clubroom – a room hosted by a Club
You also have the opportunity to peruse a variety of rooms in the hallway based on the topics you are interested in.
It is time we show up on this stage, as it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Connect and use the app with INTENTION!
Stay tuned for more
